lol. This reminds me of a story in our newspaper.
Supposedly one of the local HS dance teams made cupcakes (or brownies) for the rival HS dance team, and they laced it with ex-lax and rat poison (allegedly).

Yeah, except not. They have yet to determine whether those baked goods were laced, but from what was said, it was enough to be fatal.
Deaths on a rival HS dance team isn't awesome.

Yeah I'm pretty sure lacing baked goods with ex-lax would be illegal. A no-brainer for the rat poison. If they did do it, WTF were they thinking?!

I hate hippies!!!
They smell, they don't shave their legs or armpits (girls), they don't wear shoes, and they hate me for being a conformist. I realize I go to UC Santa Cruz, so of course there are freaking hippies here, but COME ON! I hate being considered evil because I'm not a weirdo.
There was a quote in the student-run paper today that set me off. Santa Cruz is known for its lack of school spirit; we have never had a football team, and other athletic programs are getting cut. Plus our facilities suck. A reporter asked, "Should athletic involvement be more prominent on the UCSC campus?" One answer: "No, I think the will of the student body should dictate whether we have sports or not. ...I'd like to use frats as an example."
WTF! Nevermind the frat vs. fraternity issue...what the hell do fraternities have to do with this? Ahhhhh f*ing hippies!!!
|
Did you not visit the campus before signing up?! I mean, your school mascot - the Banana Slug - should've been a dead giveaway! And don't you guys get written evaluations instead of letter grades?
But my school doesn't have a football team either.

No, I know, right? I visited but I think it was a weekend? I guess I didn't think about the student population. I still really like the campus.
Haha we do get grades now. I get that question all the time. Most professors also give written evals as well, though.
I think the main reason I hate hippies (aside from the hygiene issue) is because they make me feel bad for doing things that are normal at most other universities. *Shrug* I'll survive.

Who knows! What I don't understand is that there were 3 girls that were found to be the culprits, but the school district has yet to send the food to be tested. The other members of the dance team were the ones that ratted out the 3 girls before the food could be delivered. I doubt they'd make up something like that.
The girls got 3 days suspension, and that's about it. The parents of the other HS want to press charges. Who knows what will happen.

Oh Lucy K, have I got a dirty hippy story for you.
My lab partner and I were going through a collection and cataloging artifacts that are from the 1970s that were just kind of "forgotten" and dumped at our repository. She opened the bag and said "oh man, it smells like the 70's and hippies" and I opened the bag and took a whiff "It just smells like dirt" and she responds "EXACTLY"
Better than patchouli, that smells like mold and funky body odor to me. I'm telling you, just put up signs saying "vegan potluck, dreadlock workshop, and Phish jam band" and they will all take off.

<---a nonhippie's response
Heeeeeey! Those are the best kinds of potlucks. I love my yoga studio's, in particular.
Heeeeeey! I love dredlocks. When they are clean and stuffffffff.
Heeeeeey! Nevermind. I stole a Phish CD from a pal in undergrad. Not my kind of music.
