And that other user might actually be someone from my interest group most likely. I talked to a few of them saying I couldn't find anything. They just worded their question completely wrong.
And obviously we don't have a chapter on our campus, so anything to do with our organization requires contacting the expansion team/nationals by phone/email.

In my experience, national HQs are pretty good at getting back to interest groups and potential new members (after all - they DO want people to join their organizations), so this is your best route. If you don't get a phone call or e-mail back by the end of the day, you'll probably get one by the end of the week.
If they don't answer your question, then it's probably not for you to know until you're actually into your pledging process. In which case, it should be left out of your powerpoint until that time. It may not be something that is public knowledge.

Chapter members don't neccessarily have to pertain to my organization of interest, however. Although, my OFI would certainly be safer to ask.

Don't forget offline pledging...you better research that, too.

WTF?
There is no such thing as inline pledging!
You stand IN LINE to wait for a movie to start or to get on the bus. You stand ON LINE to do the same thing if you live in New York.
You can only go ON LINE to pledge. You don't go INLINE to pledge. Ever.

What I don't understand (besides the whole "inline" pledging) is how the heck this girl and her crew signed on to be an interest group with an organization when they don't even know basic information about it.

We do know basic information about it, the only thing that's a mystery is what I'm asking about now.

Stop defending yourself by replying to every single post. You've received the information you requested. Now it's time to go work on the ppt or what have you because it's obvious you've got a lot to learn about GL.
I am however a bit "concerned" that you lack a basic understanding of what may (or may not) be the pledging protocol for the organization you are seeking to join. If you don't know what pledging "inline"/"online" means and aren't sure that the org you are seeking does so, how are you even a member of the interest group?

Okay, don't tell me what to do first of all.
And second of all, maybe because we're not supposed to know about that yet?

The last thing you want to do is annoy the GLO you're trying to join by displaying a lot of knowledge that is supposed to be kept private.
It won't impress them: it will display your blatant disrespect for privacy and ritual. I don't know about you guys... but that's not someone I'd want to call a sister.
|
When did I ever mention that the information I'm seeking neccessarily pertains to MY organization?
Boy, a lot of you here are a bit presumptious and snobby. =/

What you're asking is definitely something that could have been researched ahead of time. If this is a national sorority you are looking into, that's not going to be too hard to figure out. Either way, you should be directing any and all questions about greek life to the expansion team of the organization you are trying to join.

THANK YOU!! I thought it was just me, LatinaAlumna...
Random thought:
Can I say it? I never get the opportunity... OK, here goes. I hope I'm right.
IN BEFORE THE LOCK!!!

It almost seems like they want to know the difference between above-ground and underground. Maybe I'm reading too much into it.
I wonder how old this organization is.
