I hate all traditional carols that are performed and people omit any reference to Jesus. WTF the holiday is Christ Mass for a reason.

You mean the holy day is Christ Mass. If we're breaking down words.

Christmas Shoes.

And then the "Last Christmas, I gave you my heart." song.

Well, if we're really breaking words down, the holy day is Christ's Mass (Cristes mǣsse in Old English).

How did you get that little (a) thingy to show up and what is it?

I hate the Chipmunk Christmas Song. Die Chipmunks, die a slow and horrible death! Wonder if Chipmunks taste like chicken?

Æ
Quote:
Æ (lower case: æ) is a grapheme formed from the letters a and e. Originally a ligature representing a Latin diphthong, it has been promoted to the full status of a letter in the alphabets of some languages, including Danish, Norwegian and Icelandic. As a letter of the Old English alphabet, it was called æsc ("ash tree") after the Anglo-Saxon futhorc rune ᚫ (Runic letter ansuz.svg), which it transliterated; its traditional name in English is still ash (IPA: /æʃ/).
And I generally copy and past from the internet or a character map if I need a particular character. I never know the right code for alt+ and it's a pain in the ass on a laptop. (I DO know the codes for the most common french accents but that's left over from high school.)

I loath Frosty the snowman as well, including the childrens cartoon and the song.

Charlotte Symphony invited a guy to sing with us, and he sang You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch. Not only was he a tenor, but he did it in the style of Jim Carry, and forgot the words half the time. I would just about hold my breath from downbeat to fine just waiting for disaster. One performance, the conductor had to call out a measure number to get everybody back with the singer after he skipped a bunch. I now hate that song.

All of them minus Carol of the Bells.

Mt face when my work has only played Christmas music since Black Friday unless I can jack my iPod for a few hours

^^^^ THIS!

I am teaching tax classes right now and they are each only 3 hours long, Thank God. The place I work apparently has 5-10 Christmas songs that play in rotation. Different versions, but the same damn songs. I counted on Thursday night and I heard "My Favorite Things" 6 times. IN THREE HOURS.

They are always really repetitive though... the music is chosen by the corporate office, and it's played loud, so that people think we're cool. It's just annoying and makes it hard to hear. Every time I leave work I have to turn off the radio and just have silence for about a half hour to get my mind back. LOL

I want to know when "My Favorite Thing" became a Christmas song. It wasn't in the movie and it sure doesn't mention anything related to the season (except snow, maybe? major stretch) but it's annoying to hear it played as a Christmas song.

"Brown paper packages tied up with strings"
"[Doorbells and] sleighbells [and schnitzel with noodles]"
"Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes"
"Silver white winters that melt into springs"

Yeah. I know. My guess is the started adding it because they needed more music for the 24/7 Christmas music on the radio.

I have the same issue with "We Need a Little Christmas" as a Christmas song. The whole point of the song is that they needed a little Christmas when it wasn't Christmas yet. And what really cracks me up about it is that the song specifically says it's the week before Thanksgiving.

"Last Christmas" because everyone and their mother has done a cover of it, and it's just a horrible horrible song. It grates on my nerves.
