Mergers usually only occur in "dire circumstances", like 10 years
of economic depression. I don't think hardly any national
GLOs are in such bad shape as many were in the late 1930's
and early 40's.

One important factor is overlap of active chapters...merging
2 chapters on one campus is very difficult, as was evident
even with LXA/ThKN.

I could see an "operational partnership" at the IHQ level, where
the fraternities remained basically separate but shared a
single HQ building, funds/expenses, etc....all the "benefits" of
merger in the business world.

But are we really in that bad of a shape financially???
