I think I'd be a little upset if my tax dollars and my money was going to support their lifestyle. But then again, I guess we do spend $10 to see bad movies to support our "celebrities".

Actually -- at least with the British royalty, I believe it's claimed that the royals bring in more than enough in tourist dollars to cover how much they cost the country in taxes. Which explains one reason why the system hasn't been done away with despite its lack of relevance to the government today.
I don't think America has any "royalty," at least not these days. Although if we did, I think the Kennedys and the Bushes would both have to be included.
