I have a question for some of you, who would you consider American Royalty and what do you base your choice on?


Me, I consider Bill Gates and his family to be American Royalty. I base it on the fact that the Gates's are the most wealthy family in America and possibly the world. If I based it on political power as well as money, I'd say the Bush family is our "monarchy". They've had two family members become presidents which was never done before and its a good chance JEB will be the 3rd family member to become president eventually.

Why not? They still have remarkable influence, even after all of the tragedies that have touched them.

I like Prince Andrew, but I'm not finding any of the photos that truly show His Royal Hotness!

See, I have a very real problem with ANYONE being called "America's Royalty". Too many people fought and died to ensure that this country would never have royalty.

Didn't the Adams family have two presidents?

eta: They did. John Adams and his son, John Quincy Adams.

Also the Roosevelts - Teddy and FDR were cousins.
