Fortunately in my chapter on my campus you are only required to be an NPC executive and remove yourself from direct dealings with the chapter during the lead up to formal recruitment and the week of until girls have accepted their bids. Since we do formal recruitment in September it's about the first half of september that you are disassociated with them. It isn't too bad, you learm to only go to school when you have classes, too hard otherwise to not talk to your sisters. I still attended chapter, because everyone at our school has chapter in the same building and it is only greeks allowed into it.
It was lonely for the month but I knew my sisters were anxious for me to return to them and that made it alot easier. As for how i helped them, I considered making sure that every PNM had a fun and safe recruitment period to be helping them. I really enjoyed being VP of Panhel on my campus I think it offers you a unique opportunity to step back from your sisters and see how the rest of the campus views you.
