By far, the best mixers we had were "anything for money" mixers. Yeah, they get out of hand, but I've won two so I can tell you they are fun!
Also, we do the marriage mixer too...guys bring a tie or girls bring an earring, and then when the other group arrives, they pick a tie or an earring and then that's their wife/husband. There are a lot of rules with regards to separation and divorce and remarrying...but it's tons of fun!
