I assume you wear it when dressed up, but I doubt it is a strick rule. I mean I wouldnt wear it with shorts but I would wear it with a nice sweater and jeans. ( on a ring I mean).
I mean I respect my wedding ring and I wear it in the pool so I don't think that rule would have anything to do with respect for the badge. But, I do see a difference wearing it as a pin and wearing it as a ring. ("pin attire")
But ADPi's correct me if I am wrong.
