The thing I'm most familiar with in Atlanta for NYE is the Peach Bowl football game (there will be tons of Florida & Miami fans around) and the dropping of the giant peach (like NYC drops the apple)

Atlanta's answer to New York City's Times Square celebration, Atlanta drops a giant peach, near Underground Atlanta in Downtown Atlanta. Always draws a huge crowd, and there's plenty of live entertainment before the peach drops to ring in the new year. Also catch the debut of Underground Atlanta's new clubs, with special live performances by Sister Hazel and Edwin McCain.
