Interesting. Kristin Kreuk (the girl that plays Tenar) is actually exactly as i pictured her to be in the book.

I try not to judge before I watch, so I'm still looking forward to this.

This week I recorded it, because I didn't have the time to watch it. I also received LOTR:ROTK EE, and didn't have time to watch it. Yesterday I watched LOTR:ROTK EE. Then I watched Earthsea. Bad move. Earthsea seemed really low budget compared to LOTR:ROTK EE. The acting sucked, the special effects sucked, etc. I was expecting more based on what the SciFi channel recently did with Battlestar Gallactica.

I never read the books, and the story was sort of interesting.

I give it a C- because it wasn't terrible, but there is no way that I'll spend another 3 hours (because I fastforwarded through the commercials) of my life watching it again.

I watched parts of it. It didn't seem that good. Like Russ said, it didn't use special effects that well . .. its using modern CGI effects but less skillful than movies from the early nineties.

Acting was so-so. And it seems like they radically tranformed the story line . . but I only watched parts . . it just didn't engage me.

The miniseries was really disappointing. I've never read the books; I was going in with an open mind. The trailers looked good, the cast had some good names in it, and I had heard good things about the reviews. In fact, I had anticipated seeing this movie for several weeks. However, it just fell flat. I completely lost interest within the first hour. I watched the whole thing (both installments), but it never managed to capture my interest (though I kept watching in hopes it would). The acting, plot and cinematography were not compelling. With all the hype this movie received, I feel let down.
