my reflections here on Founder's Day
I have a couple right now..
1. WHAT TO DO ABOUT THE RENEGADES IN THE FRATERNITY. There are two types of NON-BROTHERS in OMEGA right now.. In the case of the Renegade, I believe there are men out there who went through what some misguided Brothers or other Renegades told
them was the Omega Psi Phi Initiation Process and they have operated in the belief that they are Brothers. When questioned about Frat Cards and what DR or other official read them in, they have no clue what you are talking about. They travel and mingle with Brothers who don't bother to validate, by official challenge or a financial card, their rightful
status. The Alabama State Rep and I were talking about this category of men recently. In some ways, we believe we might want to bring the ones in who meant well and get them official if there hearts are right.
When I road tripped to the Philly Greek in '99, there were SO MANY RENEGADE BRUHS at the Picnic..
especiall from Cheaney (sp)... it's all due to INTAKE..
The other category is Impostors. That nefarious group means no good to us and they are simply pretending to be a Brother. That makes them different to me from the ones that Brothers might have duped.
Impostors need to draw our reasonable and responsible wrath to convince them to stop the charade or face tougher sanctions that won't get the Bruhs thrown in jail. LOL
2. THE other thing I'm reflecting on is for the Bruhs to take some time out
today to reflect on what it means to be the Fraternity of Men who have led on every social, economic, political, religious, health battle and fight in America. I'd like each Bruh (ESPECIALLY NON-FINANCIAL) to take some time to reexamine why you are in the Fraternity and make your personal commitment to continue her greatness in American Society.
You can't changethe Frat from the outside.
Get Financial and get INVOLVED !!!
