Wow. I logged into see what Chi Omega is up to and look what I found. Rush is mutual. While you are looking for the group that fits you, they are looking for the girls who fit them. Study hard. Get your AA. Get into UF, and give rush a shot.
I strongly encourage you to look up some old UF rush threads. They are defintely not for the faint of heart. Some end well. Some don't. Rush there is very competitive. You need RECOMMENDATIONS from each sorority in order to even have chance. And it's not very upperclassman friendly from what I hear, although there have been exceptions in the past (I belive there was a jr on this site who went Phi Mu there). But I'm thinking that these women have been stellar.
So be stellar, get good grades, get involved, work on your conversation skills. There's a chance it wont work out, but give it your best shot.
