i had all 4 of mine removed when i was 16 because they were impacted. i don't think they had even broke the surface. but, i had a really great dentist and he gave me a list of things to do before and after the surgery to minimize pain--and i had none. i had minimal surgery and the only anesthesia i had was novacaine and laughing gas. i actually fell asleep during the procedure because the dentist gave me headphones with relaxing music to drown out the sound of the drill.
