My issue with fetal stem cell research is that these babies were not respected in life (murdered), & by using them for their cells we are also disrespecting them in death.
I am for research in other areas that don't involve abortion.
Are you saying that you believe it is a child when it is aborted? That is another issue that everyone disputes, when life actually begins.

I absolutely do believe that life begins at conception. I know that people disagree on when life begins which is why I was specifically appealing to Christians (thus why I began

Since you are Christian, my comment is directed at you.

So instead of burning it, trashing it or whatever, it can be used to potentially help people. A win-win situation.

The fear is that a market for aborted fetuses will evolve from using their stem cells.
I've been looking for the article I read recently (on one of the "normal" websites, not one with a published agenda) that, while stem cell research on fetuses has not produced much thus far, stem cell research from nasal tissue & somewhere else on adults has been much more promising - AND is currently funded by the US government.

Anyone who opposed stem cell research will do so based on some kind of fear, whether genuine or contrived.

Exactly who with any sort of scientific credibility is fearing the trafficking of aborted fetuses?
Is this something legitimate, or something out of Operation Rescue?

I can't support/not support something that I am not fully informed in. However, I do support that further research should be done in this field, especially if it is as promosing as some scientists believe. Who knows where this research will lead us....

No one is fully informed about stem cell research. That's why they need to do research.

Instead of just making blanket open statements, some of you can visit http://www.bioethics.gov/
