What a lovely article. It's nice to see the Camp Lejeune boys in a positive light and it's even more wonderful to see them having fun -- Jacksonville's not really your sunshine and roses kind of town.

I know of my own sorority sisters who were heavily involved with the USO during WWII, and it's great to see those parties come back! I've always been a sucker for stuff from that era -- the whole soldier boy heading off to war scene always gets to me.

My junior year the guy I was dating at that time was in the Coast Guard. For some reason the whole chapter started dating more and more guys from USCGC Rush. It wasn't a structured mixer like how it was mentioned in the article, but their captain always joked that we should have had Spring Formal aboard the ship.
