Sorry to crash the board, but I really liked the way our chapter did it last go around...I'll try to explain it clearly...
We hung a sheet in our chapter room from the ceiling (biiiig sheet) 3/4ths of the room was blocked off. There was about a foot showing between the bottom of the sheet and the floor though, so you could see the feet of who ever was on the other side.
When the New Member's arrived, they were brought into the parlor by the New Member educator. In the parlor, the bigs had left a small basket of items...one item was SOCKS!! The New Members had to put on their socks!
Meanwhile, the bigs...and the rest of the chapter are on the large side of the chapter room wearing a matching pair of socks. The New Members are brought behind the curtain. The sisters are infront of the crutain and in a big circle! Then music starts and the sisters start walking in a circle...when they are close to the curtain, they are dancing and being silly with their feet (which the New Members can see!!). When a new member sees her matching socks - she runs out from behind the curtain to find out who her big is! The bigs have flowers and presents for the little when she gets there.
It's really cute and the girls have so much fun with it. We then do like a girls night with ice cream and Sex and the City or a girl movie.
