Everything doesn't need to be remade. And co-sign with 33girl: Can we wait at least 3 decades before a remake is done? I like seeing remakes of movies that I didn't see (and possibly fall in love with) the first time around. I don't want to watch a movie and compare it to the original every 5-10 minutes.
I would only appreciate this if it were a TV movie for TNT, Bravo, or some other network. Otherwise,
