I am also a native Texan- born and raised! Houston to be more exact. Anyway- i have to agree with most of the information you have received. Houston tends to be more humid than anywhere else- although Texas as a whole is HOT. The cost of living here is great- and there is SO much to do!! I have been to Austin a couple of times and i absolutely LOVE it there! I should have gone to UT!
Greek Life is also big here. I have never been to Dallas- but I have been to San Antonio. San Antonio is also a fun city- but it seems like you would get tired of the same things fast. Although- i am just saying that, but I dont know lots of the fun things to do there besides the obvious.
