Has anyone ever used fake tanners? Do they actualy work-for really pale ppl w/o making them look orange?

I've used Neutrogena ones, they're pretty decent. The one I have now is an instant bronzer and self tanner. It's good because it goes on brown so you can see where you've put it and how heavy, but the bronzer is darker than the resulting tan which is sort of a bummer.

even though i'm in Miami, i LOVE using self tanners, b/c i can't always make it to the beach...

i love coppertone's oil free sunless tanning lotion
it has a slight tint to it so you know you aplied it evenly,
but you gotta be careful wth what youre wearing!

if youre in a hurry,
l'oreal's sublime bronze quick dry gelee is GREAT!
its like a clear gel and dries almost instantly...

if youre not too sure about the whole "gel" concept,
you can always use neutrogena's self tanning foam/mouse...

these two are great b/c they wont EVER stain your clothes!

Now i have a question:

has anyone bought/used the "Split-Ender" they advertise on TV?

i'm DYING to get one, but don't know if it's worth the shipping & handling charges!

Okay, I need frizzie hair help. I have stick-straight hair, but in the humidity it gets frizzie. And it's been so rainy the last couple of days (and supposed to rain for the next week!), and I'm desperate for a haircut, that my hair just looks like crap right now.

I currently use Redken lush whip (#4) and glass (#1). Can I use anti-frizzie stuff for curly hair even though my hair isn't curly? Any suggestions?

Tresemmé Vitamin E Smooth and Shape Styling Crème. If you can find it.
This stuff is AMAZING. I used it for curl control when I had a perm 2 years ago. Now my hair is back to being stick straight, and I still use it to keep the frizzies down. Just make sure you put it on your hair when it's wet, unless you're trying to scrunch it (it also works wonderfully for that!!).

Need more help from the GC experts!

Has anyone tried any of the Elizabeth Arden foundations?

I'm having problems finding a foundation I like. When I was in college I used the Neutrogena cream-based compact (they don't make it any more, now I think it's comparable to their skin-clearing one) and I LOVED it! That was back in like '99-'01. Before the wedding I switched to Clinique and started using their foundations...but have slowly discovered that I am NOT a liquid foundation person. I've tried almost every foundation they make and they all suck. They all get so shiny on me and w/ the liquid I find I have a hard time blending and I get that crease.

Tried using MAC and it made me break out terribly. Promptly returned that.

Last weekend I went to the Lancome counter and tried the Dual Finish powder foundation....and have been using it all week. Well, I'm just too shiny. The thing I like about it is that I have no makeup line, and the break-outs on this makeup line have gone away (didn't really realize that the liquid was doing that until I stopped!). But I'm shiny w/in an hour, as opposed to getting shiny about the middle of the day.

Anyways, a friend of mine uses that Elizabeth Arden mousse foundation stuff. She loves it - so I was checking it out on their website. Turns out they also have a cream foundation that is similar to what I used to use w/ Neutrogena. Soooooo......

....anyone have a good experience w/ Elizabeth Arden?

If you have curly hair that you straighten a lot I highly recommend John Frieda Wind-Down ralaxing cream. It smells kinda weird, but it really works. It makes your hair less dry looking when you straighten it and also if you wear it curly it makes it less frizzy. Another good thing from John Frieda is the Dream Curl spray.

And I have a question for girls with curly/wavy hair. Whenever you scrunch it do you use gel or hairspray or what? I use both becuz I've found that it looks better if I do. However It's really "crunchy." Any better ideas?

Does anyone use a lot of Clinque stuff? I have 2 lip glosses that are mayber 2 months old and they have started to smell AWFUL. I cant even describe it. I can't even use them becuz it makes me sick. Anyone else have that problem? The lipstick is nice though.

If you still have the receipt, I'd try to get a refund or credit. They shouldn't have gone bad that quickly. Here's something I've found about how often you should replace makeup products.

Mascara: 3-6 months
Moisturizer: 3-12 months
Foundation/oil free: 6 months
Foundation/creme or compact: 12 months
(on this... if you have a bottle with a pump... it helps keep contaminates out... less contact with hands and sponges.)
Powder: 2 years
Concealer: 12-18 months
Blush/Powder: 2 years
Blush/Creme: 18 months
Eyeshadow/Powder: 2 years
Eyeshadow/Creme: 18 months
Eyeliner: 2 years
Lipliner: 2 years
Lipstick: 2 years
Lipgloss: 18 months - 2 years
Fragrance: 18 months - 2 years

YES! They do really start to smell bad. I'm a big fan of Lancome's juicy tube thingies. They taste good!

Get away from the Clinique gloss. NOW!

I use hairspray rather than gel.. Hair spray you can distribute more evenly, where as gel just goes on in clumps (so to say) regardless of how you put it on. My hair is crunchy too.. but I wait until my hair is completely dry (I only partially dry my hair w/ a blow dryer) then just run my fingers through my hair and it "de-crunches" my hair.. but my curls stay.

I start styling it after about five minutes of towel drying so that it is easier to manage. I start with mousse, gel and finally hairspray. I will blow dry to make the curls shiny and keep the back of my shirt from getting soaked.
