Regardless of what side of the fence you're on about this situation, I think we're all in agreement that when cyberstalking moves to the point that anyone has to fear for his/her safety in real life then that's a step that's gone a step too far. No one asks to be put in that situation. It's no cakewalk when it happens to you.
IHE/Mullet/enter next screen name, I hope you get the help you need to deal with your problems.Obviously she felt acceptance from the women involved on GC and she didn't have that in her real life. She wanted to belong so bad ,even if it was just a message board on the internet, enough to be able to do this twice. That's a real sad situation.
Since her persona was as a moderator the first time around, I hope some rules have been put in place to verify membership of those who apply to be future moderators of specific GLO message boards.
I disagree that this situation only effects the women who were betrayed by her actions.Sandy was right.IHE/Mullet could have perped that she was from the Girl Scouts, the point is her actions will have consequences to this message board. People may leave the board, be less friendly, less trusting or avoid offline contact all together or John can close the message board altogether. It was brave for the people involved to come forward. Forwarned is forarmed.
If you've been on GC for more than a year you can see how things change because of the few actions of others.
