1. Allow the alum enough time before your rush starts! You need to allow her time to correspond with you, get your info, write it and get it sent to the chapter. I say you should at LEAST expect that to take 2 weeks. The earlier you get in touch with somebody the better. Do not expect to contact someone 5 days before your rush starts and get a rec done.
2. Be timely with providing your information to the alum that may write a rec for you. If they agree to help you, send them your info right away.
3. PM the alum you want to contact rather than posting in each forum asking for a recommendation. That is the purpose of the recommendation thread.
