Most ridiculous statement

My girl friend said something i found totally ridiculous - she broke up with her boyfriend (after numerous of encouragement from me, her family and other FRIENDS) and she thinks he wont get over her - meaning he wont date other girls or have sex - i asked how does she know - she said her ex DIDNT date or have sex with other girls for one and half years. I didnt say anything but I dont believe that and how would she really know lol. Have you ever had a friend make a ridiculous statement as that?? sometimes I want to smack some sense into her!!!
