He's awful. It physically pains me to see him on the mound, and I'm serious too.

I think Overbay was the biggest snub; I'm not sure Pedro was much of a snub at all, his season, while solid, hasn't exactly been All-Star worthy. When you're one of the top two or three pitchers of the last 25 years though, missing an All-Star game isn't so bad.
He, and Beltre. Although Beltre is a classic "contract year" case . . .

As a Yankees fan, I'll even admit that Giambi didn't deserve to go. Jeter I'm more torn about; he's been lights out the past couple of months, and his overall numbers are solid in an off-year for shortstops. Guillen would start over him on merit, but I think Jeter may have done enough offensively to earn a place on the team.

Jeter makes it; it's the A-Rod corrolary: time+success=benefit of the doubt (and deservedly). Plus, he's a fan favorite - they want to see him, and he puts on a great show (as well as his community work etc.) . . . he's really the reason why there is an all-star game. (I still hate him)

Giambi, however . . . somebody put him on the juice again.

He's also very lucky Sosa jacked himself up sneezing, or 'intestinal parasites' would be the highlight of my season to date . . . so funny, let the syphilis jokes begin.
