Keep in mind a sister might not have sold it at all. Lots of people who aren't in the greek community don't know how much our letters and our badges mean to us. If you're not careful to list in your will EXACTLY what you'd like done with these items, often they end up being sold.

It could very well be that a Phi Mu suddenly passed away, and her well-meaning mother or father or daughter or son figured they'd send the shirt on to a consignment boutique (like yours.)

I'm sure the shirt was treasured, and there may even be a funny story behind it -- but personally, I cannot IMAGINE wearing a lime green & fuscia shirt!!! That reminds me of a Kappa Sigma I dated... they had this AWFUL lettered sweatshirt in their family that had been passed down since the 80's. Wayyyy tight, horrid patterned letters, etc. It was a joke that each new member had to have one photo taken in it.
