I think it would be a cool idea if you would advertise Singing Telegrams for a designated week (maybe Valentine's Day?) and you could have people buy a 2-minute singing telegram for 5 or 10 dollars. The only problems is being able to find people at certain times, and what song to sing them. But if you have a V-Day theme, you could have a couple of different love songs that they could pick from for you guys to perform. You also need to worry about having enough rehearsals and enough people available to perform the telegram.
Otherwise, you could sell roses (again on V-day?) for maybe $2 each on the sidewalks outside the student center. It would be a nice surprise for anyone!
