I think that one of the reasons Gore did not get more votes is because of the "guilt by association" syndrome. Because of the mistakes of President Clinton, Vice-President Gore was passed over by many voters.

My thing is, you can't punish a child for the mistakes of her/his parent for example, and neither should Gore be punished for being an associate of President Clinton. It's JMO, but obviously a lot of people feel differently. My mind was not changed...
