Congrats on your verbal section! At least buy a book if you want to try and imporve your math score. Also, if you don't want to buy a course, you can look into online self tutorials (which is helpful since the test is computer based), or even finding a math tutor (a few hours of a math tutor can be a lot less than a full course, and help you out withthe concepts you find most dificult).

Not studying works for some people, and doesn't work for others. It really depends on who you are (personally, I need to study!)

Good luck!!

I just got my acceptance letter yesterday and I am pleased to announce that I got into my first choice Master's program: The Rehabilitation Counseling program at my undergrad! I'm so relieved and excited!

I posted this in my other thread but I'm off to get my masters in geology and environmental science. Not sure if it works out as 2 seperate ones or just one big one but I'm stoked either way.

time to hit the books

A few years back, I was going to do a grad program in educational leadership, college personnel services, with an emphasis in student affairs.
I was accepted provisionally, which was fine, I knew I could handle it because I earned As in graduate level classes I took while working full-time.
But I was accepted at an out-of-state school, and before I was to start, non-resident tuition went way up. Loans weren't something I wanted to take on, and the school didn't include grad assistantships as part of the program.
I took a time out. I know student affairs is the area I want to work in, and to to it, I need to do grad studies. So, this fall, it's back to school I go, in state, closer to home.
I tip my hat to those who did well on the GRE. I took it a few years ago, and it reflected I was breathing. I have yet to do well on a standardized test, so much so my high school counselor deemed me too dumb for college.
I tuned her out and earned two BAs.

Hey good luck w/ your program this fall. I'm in a student affairs program now out in DC. It's great! I hope you love your program. What kind of work do you want to eventually do when you finish? Or are you already working in student affairs?

re grad sxhool

Re: student affairs: I've done a post grad internship in a campus activities office and helped the Greek life advisor and Panhellenic, and learned a great deal about organizing for recruitment. I also assisted the Homecoming and orientation committees by going to planning meetings and helped run events. I was very involved with campus actiivity planning when I was an undergraduate.

I know there's a proper way to respond, but I am learning with this laptop, and need to get this new unruly machine mastered by fall.

I have a journalism background and have run crisis communications workshops.

I want to look into leadership development, substance abuse programs, volunteer management, Greek life, and yes, take a computer class to update my skills.

I got into AUBURN!!!

I got into my first choice grad school! Yay! I start my program in about 4 weeks. I'm getting my master's in psychology - applied behavior analysis. My bachelor's is in Elementary Education. One of the Program assistants told me I'm their first education major ever in the history of the program.

(honk, honk) <----my horn

I'm on my way to Grad School myself. Business.

Then onto Houston or Dallas.
