in all fairness...

If the ladies at the University of Mississippi want chapters of
more than 200 girls, okay with me. But in reading previous posts
there were gripes about other groups not wanting to come on or
come back or succeeding...my point is simply that few applicants
emerge under the present conditions.
To the Phi Mu who got bent out of shape over the 200 members
"doing something that is right." Do not try to take a class in logic
or try to reason...200 members in nine sororities is hardly a good
example...why not 100 in eighteen sororities? But whatever turns your crank...you simply missed my point entirely.
And 33 girl, I made no mention of Beta Sigma Phi or the other ersatz groups who want to join the elitist sororities on college
campuses. Perhaps Tom Earp is right, times have changed. But
fraternities and sororities were originally elitist, and so were the
admissions policies. Yes, I do think if we would confer the PhD at
birth perhaps we could get on with livin.'
Finally, the crack about back-stabbing and other undesirable things during rush...was made by one of the girls from Ole Miss
whose chapter (presumably) suffered. I have not been through
rush in Mississippi, visited there or been an adviser there. But it
was a comment offered by a disappointed Ole Miss greek, not by
me.
And if Ole Miss wants 9 sororities with an over 200 membership,
fine. Have at it. And continue to preserve that wonderful tradition...if'n you're a mind to, y'hear?
