New Check Processing Technology

Fortunately, my bank is local. But they keep experimenting, so this new technology will probably find its' way here sooner or later.

I used to work in a grocery store and I can see the pros and cons with this.
You don't have to wait 3-4 days to check the balance of your account.
But, that means if you don't have enough money, you'll have to pay cash or void the entire bill. Which means the store will have to re-stock items (which takes time away from other duties) or throw food away (Where I used to work once the deli food items left the area, it couldn't be re-sold).
