The thing is, I can see people watching HER sitcom, but his?
Not so much!
I guess I forget sometimes that she is young, even younger than me (by a year, but that year obviously makes a difference lol). She could still be mid-rebellion.

being a p.k. myself, i kind of think jessica is kind of rebelling and trying to get out of the religious mode. i know that b/c my dad is a minister, people assume that i'm going to be holier than though. i have strong faith, but i'm human, as well.
i was watching vh-1 driven on her. apparently, she tried to make it big in the christian music industry, but just didn't cut the mustard b/c her body was a little too shapely. from that, i gather that she might have been kind of smothered with religion all of her life and just wanted to live more of a secular life....
i was wondering the exact same thing though....i guess i just assumed that she was REALLY religious because of her saving herself for marriage and always preaching about her values...but sista kate is kinda wild (drinking, cursing, the partying....)....i guess it's all good, she's young and wants to live her life!!!
also, from reading some of your posts, i do think nick may resent all of the fame jessica gets as opposed to him. to be honest, i had no idea who he was until they got married....
BTW...sad about his new sitcom...good lord!!!

I think it really depends on the ages of the two people. If we are talking about someone who is 17 seeing someone who is 24, then yes, I think the 17 year-old is much younger, simply because that person has not fully matured into the person that they will eventually become. If the couple is 50 and 43, then the seven years really doesn't make much of a difference because the two of them are in relatively the same place in life. Like I said, I think that Nick chose a woman younger than him so that he can assume an authoritative role in the relationship.

I'm not saying that she should be ultra religious, but I just thought we'd see grace before a dinner once, or her praying before going on stage, or less cursing. And she still talks about her Christianity in magazine articles and interviews. So, she's still practicing. Maybe she agreed not to let MTV show any of that. There's nothing wrong with having fun and having a drink. But I just expected more because SHE put it out there like that. Whatever...
As for the age issue, young does not equal immature. She's ditzy and sheltered but not just because she is young. I think she likes to be that way and is comfortable with her role in her marriage.
I can see Nick getting frustrated in a few years if things continue to go downhill for him. That frustration could lead to resentment. Only time will tell...
