did anyone watch this show....

ok, i'm embarrassed to admit that i watched that "newlyweds" with jessica simpson and nick lachey. i used to find her interesting b/c she was always so boastful of keeping her virginity until she was married. also, i saw her wedding on vh-1, so i had to watch "newlyweds"....

after watching it, she really got on my nerves!!!! she is immature and spoiled and i'm not sure what nick was thinking when he married her.....

what are you thoughts? not sure if anyone will respond to this thread b/c it is, afterall, corny, and i i may be the only person who watched it....

I admit it... I watched the show too. At first I was cracking up when she asked about the chicken, but the longer the show went on the more disgusted I got. How are you just going to take off your clothes and leave them on the floor? That is just down right trifling. And then to make a pile in the middle of the foyer-- um um um-- that's all I can say. He was right when he said she needed a personal assistant not a maid, but what homegirl needs some home training.

I watched. She gave blonds (real or not) everywhere a bad name. "Nick, are we eating chicken or tuna, because the label says 'Chicken of the Sea'?" :o    I was like, she can't be THAT stupid!! On top of that she is also dirty. However, due to my reality TV addiction I will probably continue to watch.

yea, I got a glimsp of it too and had to turn away. I was too through with her and her pile of cloths on the floor. then she says that all her life, her mom took care of her. she made the bed, cleaned her room. she never had to do that..but huny chile, you grown na!! and you is merrid, so pick up after yo' lazy behind!! busy tryin'a look cute but yo' house a mess!!

Yeah I must admit it, I watched, I was really appalled at her lazy, nasty, and dimwited azz. That are we eating chicken or tuna was a trip. Nick looked at her like...what are you stupid or something.

I mean come on, why you leave the close in the middle of the foyer like that. I mean the first thing you see when you walk into to nice house is how nasty and triflin you are...get real.

Then when her dad was like we will help, but we have to talk to Nick firt, you got that right. I'm like how you gone come in and try and to run my household. That house keeper that came to clean was totaly disgusted with them. She should have charged them way more than that $120 she charged them.

but then what i think was the worst thing about it was when her mom came and was like "where's your laundry, i'll do it for you". granted, every so often when my parents come to visit, my mom will help me out with a little cleaning, picking up stuff and putting it away, that kind of thing. but i'm also not at my apt from 7:30 am until about 8 at night and by then i'm so exhausted that all i want to do is go to bed. and my mom would never do my laundry on one of those days! it's more like wiping up the counters! they showed this girl sitting on the couch and doing nothing... at least move the clothes to the laundry room and not leave them in the middle of the foyer!!! eewwww

ok..that chicken thing had me twisted b/c i TRULY thought she was just kidding. she's really dramatic too. she was looking so devestated that she had to pick the clothes up from the floor.i can see her parents being the couple's downfall. a real man would have been annoyed with her parents trying to come in and interfere in his household.

don't the two of them seem very annoyed with each other?

I watched it a little bit the other day and yes I agree with all of you about the clothes. I just couldn't understand how she could just sit there and stare at the clothes and not do something about it. Maybe it's just me but I can't stand a messy house. My bedroom may be a bit of a mess at times but the rest of my place is as spotless as I can get it. She really did see spoiled. It'll be interesting to see how much of her non-sense Nick can take. Or maybe someday down the line she'll change.

lets hope she will change, because it seems like she is REALLY spoiled.

I WISH my mother WOULD do my laundry, I can't even get her to wash her own dish when she is at my house, let alone some dirty clothes.

I am a reality show junkie as well. I am going to be watching this show from beginning to end. I always like 98 Degrees and Jessica Simpson -- no, I didn't buy their albums, but I thought their relationship was cute. I thought that Britney Spears was going to get her claws in one of those boys, but she didn't (that I am aware of). I thought that it was interesting that she and her boyfriend were in a lengthy serious relationship and she said herself for their wedding night. I thought they made cute little suburban music together.

After watching the show, I realized that she is a few of the girls I went to high school with -- pretty and dim. She doesn't have the sense that God gave a chicken. She was killin' me within the first couple of minutes of the episode -- "Nick, I think I made a boo-boo . . . ooooh, I think I'm going to be sick. That smells like mildew." I knew then that she was something else -- "is this chicken or fish because it says chicken from the sea . . . I'm confused." She's not confused . . . she is playing helpless. He said no to the housekeeper and she got someone to look into getting a housekeeper. He said pick up after herself, she mentioned something to some random girl and her mother then her mother offered to do that married couple's laundry. The father had it right -- mom, stay out of it because they are married. He told his brother that he wished he had a gun so that he could shoot himself -- "honey, it doesn't matter where you put that stuff . . . honey, don't put the television upstairs."

When they got married, I thought it was So sweet. But as the show progressed, I thought "What an spoiled idiot" on her part. I couldn't believe how spoiled she was. And didn't she say that she didn't have her licence yet? What is she like 21 or 22? Even if she has a driver, it never hurts to have your licence, because you never know. *sigh* I don't know if I'm going to watch it next week. I probably will because I watch the show that comes on before it. :)

GRITS 08-23-2003 01:19 AM

Did Nick know she was that dense when he married her?
I didn't see one part of this episode where they were being nice to one another, but if i were him I would not have anything nice to say. But jessica will always be my true love waits icon;) ;) .:) :D

It's a brand of tuna fish.

I caught the first episode and I am SURE that I won't be watching anymore. Jessica Simpson gets on my LAST nerve! That binch can make someone crazy. I don't think that the marriage will last because she is ridiculous. I don't know if she was acting ditzy, annoying, spoiled, snotty, etc. just because the cameras were on her or what. I give the marriage another two years at the very most. If it lasts longer, I will surprised....

I was wondering the same thing about her acting in front of the camers, because when she made that remark about the tuna at first he looked at her like: why are you trying to front for the camera?

But as far as the clothes go, I don't know why anyone would want to put on a front like that for the cameras. I'm ashamed to let people in my house when my dishes are dirty (which I will admit is quite often), let alone the whole world with my dirty drawers in the floor.
