OK, not a question, but an "awwww" story about Sharing the Sisterhood...

The National Rush (Recruitment) Team visited my chapter while I was Rush Chair. They gave us a great new way of presenting the Symphony during Sharing the Sisterhood – different members each saying a line and the chapter speaking in unison for the last lines. As I was prepping for rushees to arrive at the house for Preference Party, the chapter was practicing. I heard someone say, “It’s too hard to keep it straight. Let’s just have one person say it” and everyone agreed. I came into the room to explain the concept of each woman an individual, but Chi Omega uniting us and making us stronger, and that by presenting the Symphony in this way, that’s what the rushees will learn about our sisterhood. But everyone thought they would mess up, it was too hard, etc. I eventually threw my hands up in frustration and said, “Fine. Do it your way!” and left the room (we all know how stressful rush can be!). A few minutes later I heard the Symphony being said – individuals speaking each line. I walked in as the chapter came together at the end. It was beautiful. They told me they would do it for me, because of all the hard work I had been doing. Of course I cried! Our Pref, especially the reading of the Symphony, was amazing at both of our Pref parties that year. I think it was because we had all just been witness to how much our sisterhood truly meant to us.

Kleenex anyone?
