In Alpha Phi the Nominations Chair speaks for approximately one minute on behalf of each nominated candidate. The person who nominated the candidate and the person who seconded the nomination are each given one minute to speak on behalf
of their nominee. Speeches must be positive and highlight the reasons why the candidate is uniquely qualified for the office. Candidates are not supposed to give speeches at all.
