Hey, I respect everything else you said in your post, it was well said!
But I don't agree with the above, because I just accepted a bid from a sorority yesterday, where I didn't know a single one of them before last night. Yes it is about making new friends and meeting people, which is why it's not a bad thing if you don't already know people involved. When I ran to them yesterday, even though I didn't really know them, every single one of them knew my name and they all were hugging me like I was their best friend. And I had a blast with them last night. I think it feels even better when you've made a really big impression on people you DON'T already know.
