Tickets are now on sale. Front-row seats are still available, but hurry - they're going fast!

As an added bonus, the winner gets to take on Empress Cream.

As some of our lawyer members have pointed out in the past, there really isn't a First Amendment issue here in the first place since it only applies to a government abridgement of free speech.

GC isn't the government.

it isn't?? I've been living my life with GC as one of the end all be alls, and I'm sure so have a lot of other people. I thought what we agreed on in GC overturns anything the government throws at us.

I know DeltAlum. My point was that this really isn't a place that you can "say whatever you want" and not be moderated because of the 1st Amendment. This site and its moderators are free to edit or delete as according to what they deem is offensive (or others who have pm'd/emailed them).

Now this happens to be very interesting to see the views of someone who registered today, but they know what happend on GC way back when. I feel it's a reincarnation of someone, but that's ok.

For the record, I'm not taking it personally, because I think this post is semi-hilarous. I have had posts deleted by other mods in the past, I've had posts edited by other mods in the past. I'm sure that I will have posts deleted or edited in the future.

I have never once threatend to ban someone, I couldn't even if I wanted to and furthermore I"m not even a mod for Chit-Chat so I have no say as to what the mods do in there. That's up to them.

I tend to not hold things back and honestly I've had more praise come of it than I have had negativity.

Anyway cashmoney, why don't you tell us who you really are? We don't need to hide here

I think Blaine should be banned.

He's what we like to call an "instigator."

I post under another name. I sure as well wouldn't post a topic like this one under my ordinary name.

That's where you have your difference, some people, including myself, will post anything under their own username...i.e. not making a new one up for special topics. Whether it's good or bad, yadda yadda.

Anyway, I wanted to bring this back, needs more :

I have been a Moderator since 2/19/01...far longer than UFPike was around. I'd also like to mention that I never "fought" with UFPike. I may have replied against what he had to say, but a lot of other people do the same so I don't classify that as fighting.

In regaurds to MY quote, I wrote "play nice, or else" because Billy is a friend and I didn't apprecaite the slam on him that he has no friends.

Moderators are just that...they MODERATE the forums because John alone cannot do so. It is to OUR discretion what is appropriete and what is not. OFTEN we will have a discussion in our Moderator Forum about issues before an action is taken. Yet, in certain forums it is still up to the Moderator that runs that forum as to what action needs to be taken. As a Moderator of the Chi Omega forum I can lock, delete, combine and move threads from that forum alone. I cannot ban anyone, nor can I do those above things in the Chit Chat forum (for example).

John is the ONLY person on here who can ban people, so if you have a problem with it you have to talk to John. We don't VOTE either...that's just rediculous. Sorry, but I have too many things to do than to sit around voting people off the internet. We will simply bring problems or concerns about a post, John will research it and then take action or not. Without going into too much detail I will say this...when UFPike was around he was banned, then he came back under another name. If YOU recall, John did NOT ban him right away. There was a little bit of an uproar (not just with the Moderators - but regular GC Folks) as to why he could be banned and then let back.

Further more, I'd like to add that we, as Moderators, don't always delete things. You see, there is a button at the bottom of every post that allows people to "REPORT THIS POST TO A MODERATOR" and so it is thru that we learn about situations.

I feel bad if you personally feel that this is not a fun environment.

Hope that clears the air.

And I don't know why you feel the need to hide under another name if you feel so strongly about this.

GC's not public. Sure, anyone can join, but by joining you MUST AGREE to the GC TERMS OF SERVICE. If you don't abide by them, you're out. Spamming and inflammatory posts are best bets to get banned from this.

If GC were public, it wouldn't have moderators and administrators checking the site often. It'd be a free for all.

interesting, but if this were the case then why would you start other, less controversial threads under a pseudonym as well?

lol

I've had my fair share of scandalous affairs on GC.

-remember our forbidden rendevous, Billy?-

Maybe CashMoney is Sh8er or whatever the name was.

I'm sure you all remember her.

Anyways, I wouldn't worry about the Moderators. Don't put yourself into the position to be banned and you wont be banned. It's like...what that one girl on the reunion of 'For Love or Money' said...."Rob never disrespected me because I never gave him the chance" Or something like that.

Anyways, I think Damasa should be king of GC.
Hootie can be his queen.
I'll be his mistress.
