have you ever thought about approaching local chapters to affiliate with your organization? I would think some schools might be more willing to embrace that, most schools would rather have a chapter affiliated with a larger organization even if its not in a national conference. I know on my campus we would rather have anything but another local because we feel having national oversite encourages a greater level of organization and responsibility. i know the npc would love for any of our locals to affiliate with any type of national organizations.
plus there are a lot of great locals out there that might be excited about getting in on the ground floor in your pursuit to eventually become NPC affiliated.
