I've heard these silly superstitions come out of my grandmother's mouth...

1) Put an ax (yes, an ax) under a baby's bed to keep the "hanks"( nightmares or ghosts, I guess) away....

2) If you sweep under a woman's feet, she will never get married.

Maybe that's why I'm single...

3) If your chest itches, someone wants to get with cha'.

4) Put a dime with a hole in it around a baby's neck when they're teething. This supposedly helps them teethe easier.
