i still think GW is an awesome school, eventhough I hear there are a lot of pretentious people that go there.

texas tech = ITT Tech, Tortilla Tech

UT= t.u., that OTHER school in Austin, or teasip U, in reference to the fact that kids with money, i.e. the ones that would sip tea go there.

i like to refer to Southwest Texas as UT-San Marcos, cuz all the kids that go there really want to be Longhorns but couldn't cut it.

There's a junior college in Bryan about 10 min from A&M called Blinn that we call Blinndergarden or Blinn-the school for dysfunctional Aggies.

we used to call UTSA oootsa!

The 'sips like to call OU, blOwU, now, i don't have a problem with the Sooners, probably cuz A&M hasn't been owned like the 'sips have.

Kitso forgot to reference his own school.

Texas A&M, known as Aggie Land. Inspiration for thousands of aggie jokes. Example:

A GUY WALKED INTO A BAR AND ASKED the bartender, "Wanna hear a great Aggie joke?" The bartender replied, "Sure, but before you start you should know that I'm an Aggie. And see those four large gentlemen at the table? They're Aggies too. So do you still want to tell that joke?" The guy said, "No, I don't feel like explaining it five times."

Lots of A&M love

hehe,

kudos for posting the first Aggie joke i've seen on GC. And it was a relatively clean one at that.

BTW, it's Aggieland. One word, we're not a theme park

isn't it funny how the most popular rides are the ones that always make you THROW UP!

University of Guelph is also known as "Moo U" or "U of Moo" because of the agricultural college.

I've also heard the university of Guelph refered to as "U of Goo", but not so often.

Yay for Illinois State! In addition to "I Screwed Up", my friend Vicki is a student there and calls it "Is U Normal".

I once heard someone refer to FSU as F$U on a message board (not a 'Noles fan). I laugh, but only because my best friend goes there and she gives me a hard time about Nebraska losing lately.

From back home we had William Rainey Harper Community College, which was always refered to as Harper. Nicknames included:
Harper High
USP (University of Southern Palatine)

We had a great little cheer for it too:
Harper Harper here we go!
All you need's a one point oh!

While it is supposedly a wonderful community college, it gets a bad rep because they take everyone (as I'm sure most community colleges do, and it's not a bad thing) and most people just don't take it seriously. I know some smart kids who went there because they didn't have the money to even go to a state college or just plain didn't know what they wanted to do yet.

Bristol Community College usually gets called "13th grade" around here.

ex:
HS Graduate #1: "Where are you going next year?"
HS Graduate #2: "13th Grade for my GenEd credits, then I'm transferring to BlahBlahBlah University."
