My prom was ummmm...June 9, 1989!
I went with a guy that I asked.... he didn't go to my school and he became my boyfriend the next day.
I wore a Mint Green dress.....two piece satin and lace, strapless with a lace shawl. The top had a V neck line and cascaded to a peplum front, long in the back. The skirt was basic above the knee. I wore the shoes that you can dye (porta....sp) but I didn't dye them. Where was I EVER going to wear Mint Green shoes again? My Mommy made my dress.....she is an excellent seamstress by trade....profession is RN. She's going to do my Wedding Dress.....but NOT in Mint Green! LOL
My Prom ticket was....get this....$45 per person. Six of us split the cost of the limo which cost us in total.... get THIS....$500 for 10 hours.
None of us were Prom King or Queen. In order to qualify we had to write an essay and have a certain GPA. GO FIGURE!!!
It's the Prom....not and SAT.
Anyway, our Prom theme was: Make It Last Forever.
Dr. Bob Lee from WBLS was our DJ for the evening and the Prom was held at Terrace On The Park in Queens, NY.
IT RAINED ALLLL DAY AND NIGHT!!! Can you say some ANGRY WOMEN who spent all day in the salon for the curls to end up DROPPING????
