I don't see what the big deal is - most people find something that they "major" in in college; I think it's the sign of a well-rounded student if you become involved in something besides academics. For some people it's the radio station, campus TV, a capella, student government, whatever. For many of us, it's Greek Life..no different.
Luckily my parents are very understanding - my mom was in a local sorority in college and was pretty involved, she just wanted me to take it easy after I was done with president to concentrate on school and getting a job, which is what I'm doing anyways.
