As a child I was fascinated with Harriet Tubman. I would go to the library and take out books about her. They always had spooky pictures with men and dogs looking for her and the runaway slaves. It scared me, yet held my fascination. I just thought she was so brave and so strong. I mean, talk about taking risks!

Her house (upstate NY) was just a few hours away from campus. I never got the chance to go, but I have plans to make it there one day.
