I'm so sorry that had to happen to you. No place is safe anymore--you must take precautions everywhere you go! What an awful way to learn that lesson.
Not to scare you, but please make sure that you notify your local Social Security Office and the national credit bureaus about the paystub that went stolen. You may need to get a new social security number. Identity theft is on the rise, and if someone uses your SSN to get credit cards or make big-ticket purchases, you may be held responsible for that. It can take years to clear that mess up.
