so bummed....
well, girls, i am devastated. sunday night i was at my (ex-)boyfriends house pretty late, at like, 1am. he lives in a really nice neighborhood, so i figured i could just leave my purse in my car and just take my keys inside, leaving the door unlocked.
well, when i went to leave at around 2:20am, my purse was gone. i was hysterical. what i use as my purse was my AGD tote bag. i keep my WHOLE LIFE in it. i had like, 5 cds in ther, my wallet, $50 in cash, my bank card, license, perfume and make-up, and even a pay stub w/ my social security # on it and my address! ... plus a bunch of stuff that is not replaceable, like this good luck charm i got from jerusalem (some luck, huh?). i canceled my bank card as soon as i got back to my house at like, 3am, and also filed a report w/ the police. i went the next day to his neighborhood to look around to see if the took the $ and ditched the bag.. no luck. has anything like this ever happened to any of you or anyone you know? what did you/they do? i am so upset. this sucks! agd love and mine, tatianna ------------------ it's hard being a princess...AGD |
With the world the way it is these days, no matter where you're at, you cannot take the risk of leaving your door unlocked. Thieves target those towns the most!
Last October, our then VP Recruitment had her car parked off campus because on campus parking was full. She has a Mustang Convertible, and to thieves it was easy access for them. They had cut the car's roof, stole our storage canisters for our Preference ceremony that night and before we knew it EVERYTHING down to the candles, the trellis, EVERYTHING was gone. They took the china, the silverware, and we felt so cheated and morale was at an all time low. I felt so bad for our VP Recruitment because her brand new videocamera (with all her and husband's memories) and even her piece o crap still camera and all her cds were stolen. We encouraged her to go home and deal with the police paperwork because she was so emotionally drained by the time we had to have our Preference ceremony. That's where the sisterhood came in. All we had for the ceremony was the ceremony itself, which was in her officer binder. In one hour, Safeway was able to provide us as much as possible. Still, no matter how safe and cautious you are, there are many sick people out there who'll stop at nothing to get a quick buck. If possible, don't get a Driver's License Number that is your Social Security Number!

Tatianna,
I'm so sorry that had to happen to you. No place is safe anymore--you must take precautions everywhere you go! What an awful way to learn that lesson. Not to scare you, but please make sure that you notify your local Social Security Office and the national credit bureaus about the paystub that went stolen. You may need to get a new social security number. Identity theft is on the rise, and if someone uses your SSN to get credit cards or make big-ticket purchases, you may be held responsible for that. It can take years to clear that mess up. Good luck, sweetie! Things will get better from now on. |
I am so sorry that happened to you, but like Sandy said.. it can happen anywhere now. There is no crime that happens in isolated areas. And I can definately relate.
I was working one night. I worked at a bar and grill and when I wasnt hosting I was the barista (cashier) and had a little counter area. Well I had been working there for the entire school year and occasionally I would take my wallet out to pay for something and leave it (not in site) but behind the spoon holder on the counter. Well, one day in May i did it. I started packing up to go home and looked for my wallet. I couldnt find it. We looked everywhere for it. It was nowhere and people said they never saw it. We came to the conclusion that it had been swiped. We had 4 doormen on and 2 host and no on noticed anything. Whoever took it made a clean getaway. It had my license, school ID, my staff card from a place I work at back home, grocery store card, SS card, debit card, $10 cash and to make matters worst, the $193 paycheck I had just gotten that day. Needless to say I was SOL. Everything was canceled and i got another paycheck. But i was hard for awhile b/c I had no ID and couldnt go out with friends. Couldnt take cash out and didnt have ANY money because they took all of it and couldnt write any checks. The sad thing is whoever took it would have had to come behind the counter to take it. And alot of people think it might have been another employee. I sympathize with you completely http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Tonya |
Side Note: not a good idea to be carrying you SS card around!!! Memorize the number and keep the card in a safe place at home!

thanks for all the replies girls. i still haven't heard anything about my bag. the ex went to talk to some kids in the neighborhood who are friends w/ the younger brother of one of his friends. the kids said they knew of some shady characters who live in the area and they are going to try and find out all they can and report back to the ex...
i got a new purse and wallet the other day... my wallet is SO empty. i hate this. poo. love, tati ------------------ it's hard being a princess...AGD |
Tati,
I hope they find those darned idiots! It's one thing to get your cards and personal stuff taken because most of it can be replaced (except for the item from Jerusalem), but I know it goes beyond that and you're definitely feeling violated! I hope you have better days ahead. Hang in there girl! |
Okay, that really makes me mad!!! Really mad!! Why do people take things that they didn't earn? My house was broken into when I was in High School and all they took was my jewelry box (my brother was home and they took off!) but I felt so violated and so angry because it didnt belong to them, it belonged to me!! I know how you feel. I hope you get your things back!! The worst part is they violated our letters.... URGH!! And they probably don't even know what a greek letter is!! I am so upset!! Hang in there girl, I am frustrated for you!
