I agree with what Valkyrie said...basically, my partner is in a similar position and isn't in school right now. He will be soon, but by the time he finishes, I will be finished with my professional degree. That said, he is the smartest person I know, one of the most gentlemanly men around my age, and treats me like the queen I am.
Those are my top two criteria--intelligence (not necessarily education), and respect for me and other women. I know that the bills will get paid, so I'm not stressing about that. It's just that, my whole life I have been surrounded by what most would consider "ideal" men--wealthy, good families, at good schools, with solid career plans--but they're not where it's at for me. I would rather have all the love, respect, and honor in the world than all of the money.
