Have you had fun with him so far? When you've just met someone, I really believe that is all that matters.
On education -- my boy went to community college on and off for a couple years. I'm an attorney. It doesn't bother me at all, because I recognize that he is very intelligent; intelligence and education are two different things. I couldn't be with someone if I didn't think he was smart, but I'm not so concerned if he has as much education as I have. He plans to go back to school at some point, but whether he does or not really doesn't matter to me; I just want him to be happy with whatever he ends up doing for a career, and he's young and has plenty of time to figure it out.
I'm guessing I'm in the minority though on this topic. I say go for it, though! An hour away isn't that far, either.
