Not even close to excessive -
I'm an eagles fan, but Brian Dawkins' hit was ridiculous - he deserves the fine he got.
The game isn't one of intimitable punishment - like
imthechamp said, leading with the helmet, hitting late, etc should all be met with league punishment.
