Take her out to dinner or get her a gift?.......

I just started seeing this one girl and her birthday is coming up. I just got my first paycheck of the school year and I don't know if I should spend it on dinner with her or on a gift. We've grown pretty close and I honestly believe we are at the beyond dating level but just careful cuz it's a little early.

If it is still early (like within a month), take her out somewhere nice and get her a card. However, if it has been a little longer than that, or if you are SUPER close already, go ahead and get her a gift. Just try not to freak her out... get a small gift, nothing TOO sappy!

I'd suggest dinner and perhaps some flowers or a teddy bear. I know it sounds traditional and perhaps a little overdone, but ultimately if you're not THAT close then I don't see why she should be expecting a gift.

flowers are a definite. dinner is cool. i am not saying spend $70 but something cute like a lil cafe or dessert bar or something. Ice cream parlors are always a kick.

After hearing ideas and advice from people I think what I'll do is take her out to dinner. Nothing fancy but at the same time not cheap. I'm thinking of buying her a necklace of some sort. And I'll also have a framed document of a fancy print up of the top ten reasons I love her.

Why the hell would you spend your first paycheck on someone you barely know?

HUH? What's wrong with you man?

Just make her a silly card (like the shitty ones you made for your mom in 3rd grade) give it to her, then wish her a happy birthday.

It's the thought that counts, right ladies?

We've known each other since summer though. I don't know why it took me long enough to ask her out though. She admitted the feelings were there long ago.
