WIFLSRN: They closed my kids school due to the weather. My hubby had to go to work so that leaves me here at home with them. It’s like -19 and -35 with the windchill here. Yikes!

I hope it’s much warmer where some of you are.

It sure is! It'll be a nice 13*C tomorrow. The warmer winters is one of my favorite things about living here, even though I hate the winter.

"Warmer", but not warm enough to get my morning newspaper nor let pets outdoors.

From personal long-ago experience, you can actually feel the difference between a minus eighty degree windchill and a minus sixty degree windchill when you're required to temporarily be outdoors in such brutal conditions.

Yep, I can definitely feel a change, especially when the sun is out. I think -19 is ridiculously too cold, but I don’t even want to know how the cold side of Mercury would feel like, lol.

Yesterday sucked. As if Trump being back wasn't bad enough, all of the MLK events on campus were postponed due to the frigid cold, and then...Ohio State wins the natty. That was just crappy icing on top of a really crappy cake.

And this gal loves her TikTok so the whole weekend was just crappy. Lions lost, TikTok shut down for a while (and will probably be gone in a couple months or will be owned by Musk or Zuck) and the politics. How can you write an executive order voiding all the previous executive orders from the last president? Insane. Insulin prices going back up, so much crap. Two genders, banning DEI in the govt. WTAF??????

Jan 6 rioters just released from prison through his pardon.

You know what? I’m standing my ground. They can do whatever they want, as long as they don’t speak to me, I’m fine. Don’t look at me to speak or return a conversation, because they will simply be ignored. Trump supporters are non-existent to me. All of them. They are 100% garbage.

I just told my husband I want to learn how to use his shotgun for when he has to travel for work.

His response:
“Sure, but based on your size, if you tried shooting that shotgun, the recoil would have you skipping across the house like a flat rock on a calm lake.”

My response to him:
“Yep! Probably so, but if anyone tries to come in this house when you’re not here, I need to protect my family. So, when the buckshot hits whoever or a pardoned Trump supporter breaking in when they start running all over the place attacking people, after I shoot them with it, they’ll be flying back so far they’ll need a passport to get home.”

I am SO serious.

Yes, that sounds correct. You are certainly consistent.

That said, I’ve never been the type to blindly respect titles, because it’s just not who I am. To me, a title is only as meaningful as the person who holds it. It’s about the character, the values, and the actions behind the title that matter. And honestly, the title of POTUS is no exception. If someone doesn’t live up to the responsibility and integrity that a role like that demands, the title alone doesn’t earn my respect. That’s why this is not a presidential inauguration, to me. To have a presidential inauguration, we first need a president, which we do not have.
.

Yes, there is the relentless dizziness of (his) holding and communicating opposing viewpoints, so any time he takes an action (his) past words will somehow match the action taken...

(His) supporters somehow justify (his) pardoning the most violent January 6 offenders, likely due to their hearing only one of the two opposite opinions (he's) spoken on the subject.

Winter has a high around 10*C, and a low of about 2*C with occasional dips both up and down. It's super dry here that I've had a strong dry cough until I got a humidifier I run when I'm home.

Summer is horrible, the highs get up to 36*C with 90-100% humidity. It's just like getting into a hot car in a heat wave and there isn't any AC to save you, and no windows to roll down to vent the air.

I think it's more of the relative size of the shotgun and the power of the cartridge compared to CG's size.

If you're serious about using a firearm in a self defense type of situation, some sort of firearm you are comfortable with and practice regularly with will serve you much better than a random shotgun loaded with whatever type of round your husband uses/has used/prefers. All of that sort of things is very dependent on muscle memory and regular, consistent and focused practice.

I've been thinking this too- it might be time to get a gun. I've been to the shooting range a lot and know what I'd want to get, but I had never purchased one.

That’s exactly what it is. I’ll bet that gun is bigger and weighs more than CG LOL!
