Winter has a high around 10*C, and a low of about 2*C with occasional dips both up and down. It's super dry here that I've had a strong dry cough until I got a humidifier I run when I'm home.

Summer is horrible, the highs get up to 36*C with 90-100% humidity. It's just like getting into a hot car in a heat wave and there isn't any AC to save you, and no windows to roll down to vent the air.

I think it's more of the relative size of the shotgun and the power of the cartridge compared to CG's size.

If you're serious about using a firearm in a self defense type of situation, some sort of firearm you are comfortable with and practice regularly with will serve you much better than a random shotgun loaded with whatever type of round your husband uses/has used/prefers. All of that sort of things is very dependent on muscle memory and regular, consistent and focused practice.

That’s exactly what it is. I’ll bet that gun is bigger and weighs more than CG LOL!

Cheerio, you’re absolutely right about the “dizziness” of Trump’s contradictions, I mean, it’s honestly baffling how his supporters manage to justify it all. But I think we’re talking about two different things.

What I’m trying to say isn’t just about the contradictions or how his supporters rationalize them. Those are symptoms of a deeper issue — the normalization of harmful behavior. The pomp and ceremony of an inauguration isn’t just a tradition, it’s a symbol of what we, as a society, value. And when we celebrate someone whose actions repeatedly contradict those values, we’re sending the message that those principles don’t matter. That’s what I’m really focused on.

It’s not about him being inconsistent, it’s about us as a country being consistent. What kind of standard are we setting if we allow someone to lie, undermine institutions, and cause harm, and then reward them with a celebration? The issue isn’t just what he’s doing, or what he’s done in the past, it’s that this country is collectively excusing it. That’s the bigger problem.

Now, here’s the thing about me, I tend to see certain issues in very black and white terms. I know not everyone looks at things that way, but for me, some principles just are or aren’t. Integrity, truth, accountability — these aren’t negotiable or situational, to me. Either they are there, or they are not. I mean, it’s not about being inflexible in a bad way, it’s about staying grounded in what really matters. And in situations like this, when the lines are blurred and excuses are made, I think it’s important to cut through the noise and focus on what’s objectively right or wrong. That’s just how I approach it.

Nope. But I’m going to learn how to use a shotgun this weekend. My husband is taking me to a shooting range so he can show me.

I think you should get one, Dee. The sooner, the better.

Honestly, Phrozen, it’s not about the size of the gun, it’s about the sparkle in the shooter. And trust me, I’ve got sparkle for days.

WIFLSRN: Ugh, I hate the “I’m full” text messages from my cats litter box. Or when it didn’t do a full rotation.

The thought of a litter box sending texts literally made me laugh out loud.

I have both a Glock and a short-barrel shotgun. I had a pistol grip conversion done on it, and I also had a side-saddle mounted to it to hold three extra shells. It looks extremely intimidating.

Between a Glock and a shotgun, the shotgun is more likely to neutralize an intruder faster. I use 00 buckshot and slugs in my shotgun. They both deliver overwhelming force. With 00 buckshot, each pull of the trigger releases multiple projectiles, increasing the chances of hitting vital areas, even if your aim is slightly off. With the slugs I use, the impact is so powerful, it can destroy entire sections of bone or muscle and leave entry wounds significantly larger than a handgun. I’d rather look to incapacitate an intruder quickly, rather than trying to aim in a stressful situation.

The Glock’s stopping power isn’t as immediate as a shotgun, especially if you’re using slugs. One shot with a slug, and game over. A new wall would be needed, too. Plus, a shotgun has a more psychological advantage over the Glock. An intruder hears that “racking” sound from a shotgun and they’re running. I’d rather protect my home with a shotgun over a Glock any day.

The "racking" sound saved my ex-father-in-law when someone broke into his house. He was in his bedroom and could hear them outside his room so he racked it and the guy ran out of the house.

It's funny but the same reasons you prefer the shotgun is why I would prefer a Glock or another 9mm equivalent pistol. I would be very concerned about overpenetration and other damage.

Ultimately you should use what you feel most comfortable with and what will make you successful in your goal of protecting your house/family

I hear you and agree on the over-penetration thing. But see, I’m not trying to just stop the problem, I’m trying to send it straight to the next dimension. No chance of survival, no sequels, no post-credits scene. Just CH-CHKK, BOOM and goodnight.
